About the Palau

Slide Palau Güell was built by Antoni Gaudí between 1886 and
1890, a commission from the industrialist, politician and
patron of the arts and culture Eusebi Güell.
Slide In 1945, Mercè Güell i López, Eusebi Güell’s youngest
daughter, donated the Palau to Barcelona Provincial
Council on the condition that the building be preserved
and used for cultural purposes.
Slide In 1984, in recognition of its exceptional and universal
value, UNESCO declared the Palau a World Heritage
Site under the heading “Works of Antoni Gaudí”.

Opening Hours

Summer opening hours
From 1 April to 30 September, 10 am to 8 pm (last entry at 7 pm).

Winter opening hours
From 1 October to 31 March, 10 am  to 5.30 pm (last entry at 4.30 pm).

Closed on non-holiday Mondays, 25 and 26 December, 1 and 6 January and the last week of January (for maintenance).

Admission free: first Sunday of every month, 12 February, 23 April,  11 September, 24 September and 15 December.
